I couldn’t believe how much fun I had and how much I learned. I made so many friends while having the time of my life. I am so excited to bring my knowledge back to school to our theatre.

Kansas Festival 2017
Students can choose from nearly 200 workshop sessions taught by college theatre professors, high school drama teachers, and guest artists from around the country. Colleges bring displays to promote their theatre programs. Students compete in Individual Events for a chance to quality for the International Thespian Festival in June. Six schools from across the state bring a show to perform on one of the main stages in Century II Performing Arts Center. Students can also compete in a variety of theatre activities including playwriting, charades, theatre trivia, improvisation, creative costuming, and Tech Challenge. Thespians who are seniors can audition for the colleges that attend the festival. Two seniors from each school have the opportunity to compete for $10,000 in Thespian Scholarships.

The organization of the event and the leadership was amazing. Thank you all for your tireless work. I felt like I was a true part of something great and I ended up making a lot of new friends.
I came back home energized and inspired with new ideas. The energy of the entire conference was really awesome. I am sooo looking forward to next year.
