KANSAS THESPIAN HONOR TROUPE

Honor Book Purpose: Helping Thespian troupe assess and celebrate their theatre work. Goal/mission statement: Shaping lives through theatre education

The honor book is not a competition with other troupes, it is a chance for your troupe to celebrate what your troupe has done for the past year.

GUIDELINES:

-The honor book is for the previous calendar year, not the current festival (i.e. at the 2019 Kansas Festival, the book should include the 2018 Festival not 2019).

-Please have a completed hard copy of the Honor Troupe application, typed, to give to the adjudicators when you present at the Thespian Festival.

-Projects can be used for 2 different categories if it meets the criteria for both, but the project cannot be used for more than 2 categories. The student leadership category is not counted towards the two categories.

-Student has 5 minutes to present to the judges. The adjudicator may then ask questions for the following 5 minutes.

-The portfolio (scrap book, binder, digital portfolio, etc) represents the impact your troupe is having in your school and community.

-If you decide to present a digital portfolio, you MUST bring you own source to present it on. -Troupes must provide proof of completing each requirement.

-This portfolio MAY NOT be used as a part of a troupe’s lobby display.

-Thespian sponsors need to register for this event by October 1st.

-There is no additional fee to participate in Honor Troupe.

-If you feel you have done a project that is not listed in the category you feel it fits in, please choose other. If you choose other, please be prepared to explain why it fits in the category you choose.

-Please remember that your lowest troupe you get on any one of the categories is the highest honor your troupe can receive for that year.
