Workshop Proposals

College/Vendor/Thespian Troupe Director: Presenters cover their own travel, hotel, and meals. Presenters are paid $50 for each prepared 90-minute workshop; up to 6 workshops if scheduling permits; not to exceed $300.00. Incidental expenses (i.e. photocopies, supplies, parking or transportation to and from your local airport) will be the responsibility of the Workshop Presenter. Colleges that attend the Thespian Auditions, can not present a workshop in the last 3 sessions if they attend auditions. We expect workshops to take up the entire 90 minute period for compensation. Presenters should bring their own equipment to make sure they are ready for their workshop (i.e. MP3 players, boomboxes, laptops, projectors, screens, and any cables necessary to run the equipment.) Kansas Thespians has some equipment at the Festival, but with dozens of workshops each session, there is no guarantee we will have what you need. It is best to come prepared with your own equipment.

Local Guest Artists (Invited Guest Artists from Wichita/Salina/Kansas City area): Presenters hotel rooms will be covered at the Hyatt Regency Wichita and meals. Presenters will cover their own travel expenses. Presenters are paid $100 for each prepared 90-minute workshop; up to 5 workshops, if scheduling permits; not to exceed $500. Additional hotel nights and incidental expenses (i.e. photocopies, supplies, parking or transportation to and from your local airport) will be the responsibility of the Local Guest Artist. We expect workshops to take up the entire 90 minute period for compensation. Presenters should bring their own equipment to make sure they are ready for their workshop (i.e. MP3 players, boomboxes, laptops, projectors, screens, and any cables necessary to run the equipment.) National Guest Artists: Presenters receive accommodations at the Hyatt Regency Wichita, airfare (arranged by Kansas Thespians), and meals while at the Kansas Thespian Festival (coordinated by Kansas Thespians). Presenters receive $599 for teaching 5 prepared 90-minute workshops. Additional hotel nights and incidental expenses (i.e. photocopies, supplies, parking or transportation to and from your local airport) will be the responsibility of the Guest Artist. We expect workshops to take up the entire 90 minute period for compensation. Presenters should bring their own equipment to make sure they are ready for their workshop (i.e. MP3 players, boomboxes, laptops, projectors, screens, and any cables necessary to run the equipment.) Kansas Thespians has some equipment at the Festival, but with dozens of workshops each session, there is no guarantee we will have what you need. It is best to come prepared with your own equipment.

Workshop proposals are due by October 1st.

Workshops presenters will confirmed by October 15th.

If you are selected as a Workshop presenter, you must register for the festival by November 1st, to confirm their acceptance of presenting a workshop at our festival. If you do not register by November 1st, you will forfeit your workshop session(s) and we will select a proposal from another teaching artist.
